Why You Should Get A New Boiler

Boiler replacements can be expensive, we recognise that. However, if you’re tired of your old boiler breaking down or are concerned about the running costs of your current boiler, this post is designed with you in mind. A brand new boiler isn’t all that bad, you can benefit from all of the below…

Greater boiler efficiencies

Each boiler that is manufactured and released in the UK is graded by the Seasonal Efficiency of Domestic Boilers Scheme. The scheme grades boilers from A-G, where A is considered the most efficient, where boilers operate at a 90% efficiency level, whilst G is considered the least efficient, where boilers operate at an efficiency level below 70%. Generally speaking, the older a boiler is, the less efficient it is.

If your home has an older G-rated boiler, you could potentially save £100’s on your energy bills per year through greater boiler efficiencies, repaying back the cost of the installation in no time. Surely that’s a worthwhile investment?

New boiler guarantee

Upon installation, a large number of boiler manufacturers offer extended guarantees with their boilers. Of course, this is typically dependent on an annual boiler service, which has benefits in it’s own right as we’ll uncover in a future post, but for the sake of having peace of mind for an extended period, we think it’s definitely worthwhile. Get a new boiler and take advantage of a new guarantee.

Faster repair times

Older boilers can be a nightmare to repair in comparison to newer boilers. Why? It’s sometimes difficult to source the correct parts and sometimes, the cost of a repair of an older boiler is almost as expensive as the installation of a new boiler. As modern boilers are considerably easier to repair and the parts are widely available, it means you can take advantage of reduced breakdown times. Hence, you needn’t worry about being without a shower for weeks on end. Again, surely that’s a huge advantage?

Smaller, quieter boilers

New boilers are considerably smaller than older boilers, allowing you to make room for the more important things in life and take advantage of some much needed storage space. Combination boilers, which do not need a huge header tank in the loft, have soared in popularity and are a great example of this. Newer boilers are also considerably quieter, particularly so if your existing boiler is on the verge of a breakdown, where kettling, banging and humming noises are most prominent.
